A joint production of the musical “Jekyll and Hyde” by South Korea’s OD Musical Company and the U.S.’ Work Light Productions will launch a world tour starting in December.
 
OD Musical Company said Monday that the project will involve upgrading the Korean version of the musical and casting Broadway actors.
 
OD Musical Company will be tasked with the overall production and planning while Work Light Productions, which has produced hit musicals such as “Rent,” “Cinderella” and “Mama Mia!” will take part as a partner.
 
The world tour will begin in Daegu on December first for a monthlong run. Between March and May, the musical will take the stage in Seoul before going onto cities of Asia and the U.S. from 2018.
 
Based on Robert Louis Stevenson's 1886 novel, “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” the musical is a thriller that depicts the duality of human nature.
