Rio Paralympics Kick Off

The 2016 Paralympic Games kicked off on Wednesday with an opening ceremony at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

Four-thousand-461 athletes from 160 countries will compete during 12 days of competition in the first Paralympics held in South America.

South Korea has dispatched a 139-member delegation, including 81 athletes, who will compete in a total of 11 disciplines. China has sent the largest delegation at 307, followed by Brazil at 286 and the U.S. at 278.

Team Korea aims to win at least 10 gold medals and grab a top-12 finish.
