Multicultural Peace Festival Opens at Yeouido Park

The 2016 Multicultural Peace Festival opened at 10 a.m. Saturday at Seoul's Yeouido Park.

The festival, in its second year, is aimed at eradicating negative social perceptions of multicultural families and promoting cultural diversity.

The 24 provincial chapters of the Korea Multicultural Peace Federation are attending the festival as well as some ten-thousand citizens and multicultural family members hailing from 50 different nations.

The festival will feature an award ceremony for multicultural families who made contributions to Korean society as well as a choir performance, traditional cultural shows from various countries, and many other programs.
