S. Korea Wraps up Rio Paralympics in 20th Place of Medal Standings

Team Korea has finished its run at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games with a bronze medal win in the wheelchair marathon event.

In the men’s event held on the final day of the Games Sunday, South Korean wheelchair racer Kim Gyu-dae clocked one hour, 30 minutes and eight seconds, finishing behind Marcel Hug of Switzerland and Australia’s Kurt Fearnley.

Hug finished first at one hour, 26 minutes and 16 seconds, and Fearnley came in a second later.

It was Kim’s second medal at the Rio Paralympics after winning a bronze medal at the 800-meter T54 event.

South Korea finished 20th in the overall medal standings at Rio with seven gold, eleven silver and 17 bronze medals.
