Samsung to Release V-NAND-Equipped SSD

Samsung Electronics announced on Wednesday that it will release its “960 PRO/EVO” solid state drive(SSD) line for consumer use that is equipped with its third-generation V-NAND technology.
 
A SSD is a solid state storage device that is rapidly replacing the hard disk drive.
 
The new line will include six models and will be released next month in 50 countries, including South Korea, the U.S., China and Germany.
 
The electronics giant said that it seeking to expand its NVMe SSD market for consumer use.
 
It explained that the 960 PRO 2TB model is four times larger in capacity and one-point-four times faster in speed than the existing 950 PRO 512 Gigabyte.
