Gyeongbok Palace Night Scenery to be Adorned with Media Art

Starting from this weekend, the night scenery of Gyeongbok Palace in Seoul will be adorned with media art displays for around a month.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on Friday that it will, together with the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Korean Creative Content Agency, feature converged content at the ancient palace from Saturday to October 28th.

On the bottom of the Yeongje Bridge located inside the palace, spiritual beings, such as the 12 guardian deities in the Korean zodiac, will be displayed in digital images.

In the palace’s Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, composite artwork combining visual performances, classical Korean music, and traditional dance will be featured through projection mapping, media façades and other forms of convergence technology. Such performances will be held four times a day.

Advance ticket sales have all sold out. However, people who wear the traditional Korean costume hanbok will receive free admission.

Tickets are available on-site for up to 500 foreigners per day.
