Autumn Foliage Season to Begin on Thursday

This year's autumn foliage season in South Korea is expected to begin on Thursday atop Seorak Mountain in eastern Gangwon Province and spread south.

Weather-I, a private weather information provider, announced on Monday the official start of the fall foliage, adding that leaves will begin to change color two to five days later than usual due to warmer-than-average temperatures in September.

The weather forecaster said the mid-section of the country will see autumn leaves flourish on October 17th, while the southern region and Jiri Mountain will see the leaves change color between October eleventh and the 31st.

Overall, the fall foliage will reach its peak between October 17th and the 19th at Odae Mountain and Seorak Mountain, October 28th in the central region and between October 26th to November 12th in the southern region.
