N Seoul Tower, SMTOWN at COEX Artium and K-Star Road have been picked among the top ten attractions of the Hallyu boom of Korean pop culture in Seoul.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government revealed the selection on Wednesday after collecting votes between September first and 20th on its Visit Seoul Web site.
Along with SMTOWN, which features exhibitions related to Hallyu celebrities under the SM Entertainment label, other attractions that made the list were Yeouido Han River Park, the floating islands of Some Sevit on the Han, Lotte World Tower, Cheonggye Stream, Deoksu Palace and the Namsangol Hanok Village.
The Seoul government first selected 20 candidate attractions through written evaluations and deliberation by experts before carrying out a vote to narrow down the list to ten sites.
The government said that most of the roughly 12-thousand people who voted were foreigners residing abroad.
