'The Age of Shadows' to be Screened in 45 Countries

South Korean film “The Age of Shadows” will be screened in 45 countries around the world, including Brazil, Australia and Spain.

Warner Brothers Korea, the action thriller’s producer and distributor, said Thursday that the movie starring Song Kang-ho and Gong Yoo set during the Japanese occupation of Korea, was sold to film distributors in 45 countries.

The firm said all the film distributors that purchased the movie signed contracts on the condition of screening it in theaters. Buyers in Germany, Britain and Japan are also said to be competing for the purchase of the film.

The film directed by Kim Jee-woon hit theaters in North America last Friday. In the first weekend of its release, it garnered roughly 166-thousand dollars in profit, ranking 20th at the box office among other newly released films in North America.
