Gov't Panel Holds Meeting on N. Korea's Human Rights

A newly formed government panel has begun its work towards improving human rights conditions in North Korea.

Vice Unification Minister Kim Hyung-seok and director-level officials from the Foreign Ministry and Justice Ministry held the panel's inaugural meeting on Tuesday.

The group aims to refine and enhance South Korea’s policies North Korean human rights.

It also plans to collect and organize testimonies, opinions and other data on how the North treats its citizens.
