South Korean and Chinese scientists have developed a scale that can weigh infinitesmally small objects.

The device can accurately report the weight of individual cells and particles the width of a single strand of hair.

Teams from Sogang and Seoul National University in South Korea and Nanyang Technological University in China collaborated on the project, which received support from the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning.

Sogang University Professor Lee Jung-chul's write-up of the research is published in the October third issue of the journal "Scientific Reports."
