The Seoul Metropolitan Government will recruit multicultural citizens to record an audio book containing the folk tales of five countries where many people have emigrated from for marriage.

The municipal government said it will produce ten different audio versions of the picture book titled "A Mother’s Whisper," using the languages often used by immigrant spouses.

Readers must be fluent in one of the ten languages, including Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese and Russian, among others.

The city said the Korean version, in particular, will be recorded by multicultural family members.

"A Mother’s Whisper" was published recently as part of a joint effort by the city and the Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-koo Foundation. Written in Korean as well as in the respective local languages, the book includes fairy tales, including "bánh chưng bánh dày," or "Square Sticky Rice Cake" of Vietnam, and other stories.

An audition will be held at the Seoul Innovation Park in the Eunpyeong district at 10 a.m. on October 28th.
