N. Korea Wins FIFA Under-17 World Cup

North Korea has won FIFA’s Under-17 Women's World Cup, beating Japan in penalty kicks.
 
In the final match held at Amman International Stadium in Jordan on Friday, North Korea won 5-4, becoming the first country to win the Under-17 World Cup twice. Their first victory was in 2008.
 
North Korea advanced to the quarterfinal atop Group C before moving on to the semifinal by beating Ghana 2-1. The North defeated Venezuela 3-0 to reach the final without suffering any losses. 
 
Japan, as reigning champs, went into the competition as the early favorite, undefeated and scoring 19 goals in the tournament.
