Korean Clarinetist Kim Han Wins Top Honors at Jacques Lancelot

Korean clarinetist Kim Han has swept three coveted awards at the Jacques Lancelot International Clarinet Competition in France including the top prize.

According to the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation, Kim also won two out of three special prizes up for grabs: the Prize of the Public and Prize for the best creation of Fuminori Tanada "Sommerwind V."

Kim is the second Korean to be awarded at the competition after Kim Sang-yoon, who also won first prize in 2012.

The international competition was founded in 2012 to pay tribute to the legendary clarinetist Jacques Lancelot. It is held every two years alternately in France and in Japan where young artists between the ages of 18 and 35 take part.
