S. Korea Wins Bronze Medal in U-23 Baseball World Cup

South Korea has claimed the bronze medal at the U-23 Baseball World Cup by defeating Panama in Monterrey, Mexico.
 
Led by coach Jang Che-geun, the South Korean team achieved a 5-3 win over the Central American country, thanks to the impressive performance of Jung Sung-gon who struck out four batters.
 
The third place finish for South Korea came after recording six wins and three defeats throughout the preliminaries and the super round.
 
With the victory, South Korea also avenged a 4-5 loss to Panama in the fifth match of the opening round.
 
After taking the mound as the starting pitcher, Jung pitched a complete game and threw 98 pitches in the nine innings. He only allowed four hits and three runs to the opposing team.
