3.5-Magnitude Quake Occurs in Boryeong, S. Chungcheong

The Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA) says a three-point-five-magnitude earthquake occurred in Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province, Sunday night.

The province's fire service headquarters said it received roughly 200 reports of tremors. Weak vibrations and shaking windows were reported in parts of the Gyeonggi and North Jeolla provinces.

In regions near the quake-hit site, some residents felt vibrations and rushed out of their homes. However, there were no cases of serious damage, such as wall collapses or land subsidence.

The Korea Earthquake Research Center said there is a chance that the temblor might be an aftershock of a recent earthquake that struck Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, although the possibility is low.
