Swimmer Park Wins 2nd Gold at Asian Tournament

Swimmer Park Tae-hwan won the men's 400-meter freestyle race at the tenth Asian Swimming Championships in Tokyo on Friday.

It was the 27-year-old's second gold at the tournament after he won the 200-meter freestyle on Thursday.

In the 400-meter final held at the Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Center, Park outpaced his competitors with a time of three minutes and 44-point-68 seconds. He beat Tsubasa Amai of Japan, who came in second and nearly six seconds behind.

Park's time is short of his personal best of three minutes and 41 seconds set during the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games.

The Asian Swimming Championships is the South Korean swimmer's first international event since coming up short at the Rio Summer Olympics earlier this year.

In the Tokyo games, he applied to compete in five freestyle events including the 50, 100 and 15-hundred meter races.
