Gov't Expects UN Resolution to Considerably Affect N. Korea

The Unification Ministry says it expects the new UN Security Council(UNSC) resolution against North Korea will have "considerable" effects on the regime.

Ministry Spokesman Jeong Joon-hee delivered the view in a regular news briefing Monday as it was made known that the UNSC is working on the new package of sanctions that targets North Korea’s coal exports.

Jeong cautioned, however, that it is difficult to exactly predict what effects will be generated as the resolution is still being discussed.

Regarding the North’s silence since the firing of a Musudan missile on October 20th, the spokesman said Pyongyang can resume provocations at any time.

He said the regime will choose the time to wage a provocation based on a review of political developments abroad,  its preparedness and the domestic situation.
