Ulsan Postpones Asian Bird Fair Amid Influenza Spread

An international gathering of bird-watchers has been postponed due to concerns about the spread of bird flu.

The eighth Asian Bird fair had been on track to take place in Ulsan in February.

However, the Ulsan city government said Tuesday it would be inappropriate to hold the event while the spread of bird flu is taking a heavy toll on domestic poultry farms.

The fair, which brings together roughly 200 bird-watchers and experts from 24 countries, is now scheduled for next November.
