South Korea won two more gold medals at the International Skating Union(ISU) World Cup Short Track Speed Skating in Gangneung, Gangwon Province on Sunday, becoming the overall winner of the competition.
Choi Min-jeong contributed to both gold medals for South Korea, winning the 500-meter individual title and the three-thousand-meter relay with her teammates Shim Suk-hee, Noh Do-hee and Kim Ji-yoo.
It is the fourth consecutive time Choi became a double gold medalist at an international event.
It also marked the fourth straight time that South Korea won the women’s three-thousand-meter relay.
In the men’s 500-meter final, Han Seung-soo secured the bronze.
With Sunday’s performances, South Korea wrapped up the fourth World Cup of the 2016-2017 season with four gold medals, the highest among the participating countries. A total of ten gold medals were up for grabs at the three-day competition.
On Saturday, Shim and Lee Jung-su won the women’s and men’s 15-hundred-meter titles, respectively. Choi also won a silver in the women’s one-thousand-meter event on Saturday.
The fourth World Cup was the first skating Olympic test in short track event ahead of the 2018 Pyeongchang Games.
