South Korea has wrapped up the year placing third on the World Baseball Softball Confederation(WBSC) rankings.
The WBSC on Thursday announced its end-of-the-year baseball world rankings in which South Korea came in third with a total of four-thousand-849 points.
The world governing body of baseball produces the ranking of countries based on the performances of national teams.
South Korea, which rose to number four last year after it won the Premier12, nudged aside former number three Taiwan, which finished with four-thousand-261 points this year.
The WBSC noted South Korea hit “all-time highs” this year, mentioning its third-place finish at the U-23 Baseball World Cup in November. It also said that South Korea continues to build on the momentum from 2015 when it captured the inaugural Premier12 trophy.
Japan remained at the top of the rankings with five-thousand-669 points. The U.S. stayed as the runner-up with four-thousand-928 points.
