Prime Minister Goh Kun met Saturday with Yoshihiro Katayama, Governor of Japan's Tottori Prefecture, for talks to promote exchanges between regional governments of the two countries.

Goh thanked The Tottori prefectural government for having shown keen interest in enhancing bilateral relations, while stressing the importance of developing programs in which South Korean and Japanese youth could expand exchanges in the arts and culture fields.

Governor Katayama is known for his efforts to forge close relations with North Korea as well as South Korea.
