A new survey shows that South Korea's recognition as a tourist destination is the highest in Thailand.
The finding was made in an online survey of 12-thousand people in 20 countries worldwide carried out by the Korea Tourism Organization and Nielsen Korea. According to the survey, 84 percent of Thai respondents recognized South Korea as a tourist destination last year, up from 79-point-six percent in a similar survey in 2015.
China came in second, followed by Indonesia, Vietnam and Hong Kong.
Among the 20 countries, Vietnam is the nation that most prefers South Korea as a tourist destination, trailed by Thailand, the Philippines, China and Indonesia.
South Korea’s recognition level as a tourist destination stands at 53-point-two percent on average, while the average preference level is 57-point-five percent. Both percentages have jumped for the third straight year.
Those surveyed were asked about South Korea’s charms and reputation as a tourist destination in distinction from its national brand power.
