Pyeongchang Olympics Pictograms Unveiled

Pictograms symbolizing 24 sports categories of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games have been unveiled.
 
Organizers for the Pyeongchang Games said the pictograms were designed from the Korean alphabet system Hangeul and comprises both 2D and 3D elements. A combination of the words “picto” and “telegram,” a pictogram is a pictorial symbol that conveys the meaning of a specific word or idea.

The pictograms represent 24 sports in 15 main categories and nine subcategories of the Pyeongchang Olympic Games. 
 
Organizers expected that athletes from around the world will be able to easily understand the icons no matter what country they are from or what language they speak.
