Support centers for multicultural families nationwide are offering translation and interpretation services free of charge to members of such families who do not possess sufficient Korean language skills.
A support center in Seoul's Nowon district said Saturday that it will provide language services in Vietnamese to multicultural family members and immigrant spouses during the year.
Under the service, workers will assist Vietnamese natives if they need help during visits to Korean administrative offices or need translation of information related to living in Korea.
For other foreign languages, the center will connect outside translation services for those in need (☎02-979-3502).
A support center serving multicultural families in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province is also providing language assistance in Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai throughout the year to help those in need settle in Korea and better communicate with Korean family members.
Similar centers in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province and Yeosu, South Jeolla Province are also providing translations in certain languages.
To request the services, people can call or visit the centers.
