Reservations of tickets for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics will begin on February ninth, just a year before the opening of the games.
Organizers for the 2018 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games announced the ticket reservation schedule on its Web site on Tuesday.
The organizing committee had initially planned to begin online ticket reservations in October last year with offline sales scheduled for November this year. However, it adjusted the plan in discussions with the International Olympic Committee due to instability in its online booking system and insufficient publicity.
Prices for tickets to the opening ceremony range from 220-thousand won to one-point-five million won based on seating classes. Closing ceremony tickets will run as little as 220-thousand won to as much as 950-thousand won.
Prices of tickets for popular skating events begin from 150-thousand won. Tickets for preliminaries of sledding sports can be purchased from 20-thousand won.
