S. Korea Discloses Birds' Migration Paths

South Korean quarantine authorities have disclosed migration paths of birds to allow poultry farms and quarantine agencies to use the information to prevent avian influenza(AI).

The Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency said on Tuesday that it released the relevant information acquired from trackers of migratory birds on its Web site.

The site shows the birds' migration paths of the past three years and when specific species reach and leave certain regions.

It also allows people to check the migration paths of birds tracked by foreign authorities of China and Mongolia, considering that migratory birds from China are suspected of being a source of AI outbreaks in South Korea.
