Korean Americans Open Website of English Translations of Korean Literature

A nonprofit organization of Korean Americans has opened “Koreanlit.com,” a Web site that introduces English translations of literary works by Korean authors.

Poet Yoo Hee-ju, head of the Korean Cultural Service of Massachusetts which led the establishment of the site, told Yonhap News Agency on Sunday that the site was set up to share Korean literature with the English-speaking world.

The poet said that many South Korean authors and Korean Americans worked together to open the site, adding that it would have been impossible to open it without them.

The site, launched under the theme of “Where Modern Korean Literature Meets the World” comprises sections of Korean literature, columns, art and travel.
