S. Korea Wins 1 Gold, 1 Silver in Snowboarding at Sapporo Asian Games

Snowboarder Lee Sang-ho has brought home South Korea’s first gold medal from the 8th Winter Asian Games that kicked off in Sapporo on Sunday.
 
Lee won the men’s giant slalom event on Sunday, clocking a total of one-minute and 35-point-76 seconds from two attempts.
 
It is also South Korea’s first-ever gold medal in snowboarding at any Winter Asian Games.
 
Lee’s compatriot Choi Bo-gun won a silver medal in the same event at one minute 36-point-44 seconds.
 
The bronze medal went to Shinnosuke Kamino of Japan, who came in at one minute and 37-point-14 seconds.
 
The 221-member South Korean delegation, including 142 athletes, is aiming to win 15 gold medals during the Sapporo games.
