King Sejong Foundation Releases Free App for Learning Korean

The King Sejong Institute Foundation has released a free mobile app for learning Korean on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

The foundation, which oversees Korean language education abroad, said Monday that the app introduces one-thousand-700 Korean words for beginners. It supports three languages -- Korean, English and Chinese.

The app is composed of daily words, theme-based vocabulary learning, vocabulary lists, word games and an introduction to the foundation. Nine-hundred key words are accompanied by pictures so that those who have no understanding of the language can still study.

The app takes learners through four stages of seeing, reading, writing and listening to study Korean.

The foundation said it will develop additional apps to study grammar, pronunciation and conversation.
