More Muslim-Friendly Restaurants Coming in S. Korea

As part of the project called “Muslim-Friendly Korea,” the South Korean tourism agency plans to increase the number of restaurants selling halal food to 170 from the current 135 in the nation.

The Korea Tourism Organization(KTO) on Monday announced plans to attract more tourists from Muslim countries.

The organization will select more Muslim-friendly restaurants by next month and hold an event entitled “a halal restaurant week” in September.

In Korea, Muslim restaurants are divided into four categories, including official halal-certified and Muslim-friendly.
