Spring Flowers Likely to Bloom 1~4 Days Earlier This Year

The blooming of spring flowers in Seoul is forecast to come one to four days earlier this year compared to previous years.

According to the Seoul Institute on Monday, forsythias are expected to burst into bloom from Monday, azaleas from Tuesday and cherry blossoms from next Thursday.

Given that it takes about a week for flowers to fully bloom, forsythias and azaleas are expected to hit peak bloom next Monday and cherry blossoms around April 13th.

In line with the blooming of the flowers, major spring flower festivals will open throughout the capital, starting with the Mount Eungbong forsythia festival on Friday.

Such festivals will also open around Seokchon Lake, Yeouido, Seoul Grand Park and Seoul Land next month.
