S. Korea Beats Syria 1-0 in FIFA World Cup Qualifier

The South Korean national football team beat Syria 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
 
Hong Jeong-ho gave the host team the lead with a fourth-minute left-footer at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.  
 
With its fourth victory in the final qualifying round for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, South Korea remains in second place in the six-team Group A. 
 
Iran remains in the top spot in Group A after defeating China 1-0 on Tuesday, maintaining its four-point lead over South Korea. Uzbekistan is a point behind South Korea on 12 points, after beating Qatar 1-0 on Tuesday.
 
South Korea now has three matches left before it wraps up the qualifiers. It will face Qatar next on June 13th.
