The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism says it plans to actively promote one-person media as a next-generation content-based industry.
The head of the ministry's Cultural Content Industry Office revealed on Wednesday that fostering the content industry will be a major agenda for the next administration.
In regards to China’s retaliatory measures against South Korean cultural content, the official said the government will focus on providing financial support for small firms suffering from the measures and helping local firms maintain networks in China so they can resume business when the two nations mend ties.
Earlier this month, the ministry unveiled steps to boost cultural exports to counter Chinese retaliation over the U.S. THAAD antimissile system in South Korea, including a plan to spend its 116 billion won annual budget earmarked for cultural content production in the first half of the year.
