Olympic Training Chief Vows 4th in 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics

The head of the South Korean Olympic training camp has vowed active efforts for South Korea to rank fourth in the overall medal tally in the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic Winter Games.

The National Training Center chief Lee Jae-keun made the pledge before reporters on Thursday.

Lee said Team Korea is aiming to rank fourth with eight gold, four silver and eight bronze medals in the upcoming winter Games. He stressed that South Korea must achieve this goal.

Lee said that at the current level, he cannot say that Team Korea can safely secure eight gold medals, stressing that support must be provided so that events where a silver medal is expected would end up producing gold medals.

He said that in the current state, Team Korea can safely win six gold medals.
