S. Korean Women's Football Team Advances to 2018 Asian Cup

The South Korean women's national football team has secured a berth at the 2018 Asian Cup, following a series of away games in North Korea.

At the Kim Il-sung Stadium in Pyongyang on Tuesday, South Korea beat Uzbekistan 4-0, clinching the top spot of the Group B qualifying tournament for the Asian Football Confederation(AFC) Women's Asian Cup.

Ji So-yun scored two goals while Yoo Young-a and Cho So-hyun each scored a goal.

The other teams in the Group B qualifying tournament were North Korea, Hong Kong and India.

Although South Korea and North Korea both ended the qualifiers with three wins and one draw, Seoul clinched the ticket to next year's Asian Cup thanks to a higher number of goals scored overall.
