Korean TV Drama to be Shown in Cameroon

A South Korean drama series will be shown on a television network in Cameroon starting this month.

Frame in Africa, a local production company specializing in Africa, said Wednesday that it recently signed a contract with the Cameroonian terrestrial broadcaster LTM to air KBS drama series "Bridal Mask" for two years during prime time from eight to nine p.m.

The company said that it would be the first Korean drama to be shown in Africa through a commercial deal.

“Bridal Mask,” which was broadcast in South Korea in 2012, will start airing in the African country on April 24th.

Kim Young-don, chief of the Korean company, said that his firm has pursued the contract as it is the most effective means to spread “hallyu” or Korean pop culture to Africa, adding negotiations are under way with companies in Kenya and South Africa to export Korean dramas.
