A new medical survey shows that five out of every 100 South Koreans have experienced smartphone addiction in the last 12 months.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare on Thursday announced the result of a survey commissioned to Samsung Medical Center in Seoul on five-thousand-102 adults across the country between July and November of last year.

The research assessed five percent of the surveyed as experiencing an addiction to smartphone use at least once over the span of a year preceding the time they responded to the survey.
