Kim Sei-young Wins LPGA Match Play

South Korean golfer Kim Sei-young has grabbed her sixth career LPGA title with a victory at the Lorena Ochoa Match Play tournament.

At the final held at the Club de Golf Mexico in Mexico City on Sunday, the 24-year-old Kim beat Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand by one stroke to claim her first LPGA win of the year.

Her victory came eleven months after she won at the Meijer LPGA Classic in Michigan, her third win of last year. Kim also won twice in her debut year on the LPGA in 2015.

Meanwhile, Kim’s South Korean compatriot Hur Mi-jung took third place at the tournament, beating Korean American Michelle Wie with a birdie on the 22nd hole.

It is the first time in five years a match play was held on the LPGA. A total of 64 golfers competed for the title.
