South Korea will open lecture courses in 20 locations around the world this year to spread and promote Korea culture.

The King Sejong Institute Foundation said on Monday that “Sejong Culture Academy” will open at its King Sejong Institutes, which are state-sponsored Korean language institutes.

The academy will provide six to seven week courses on Korean traditional culture such as taekwondo and calligraphy, as well as K-pop, K-beauty and Korean dramas.

The foundation will open the academy courses at six King Sejong institutes in Bulgaria, Russia, Lithuania, Kyrgyzstan, Iran and Vietnam in the first half of the year, with a plan to open in 20 locations by the end of this year.

The foundation operates 174 King Sejong Institutes in 58 countries.
