U-20 World Cup Kicks Off, Opening Match with Guinea

The FIFA U-20 World Cup kicks off Saturday in host nation South Korea for three weeks of competition of football's young rising stars.

The matches will be held through June eleventh in six cities in South Korea, including Suwon, Incheon and Jeonju.

Korea has now hosted all of the four major FIFA tournaments, including the Confederations Cup in 2001, the 2002 World Cup and the U-17 World Cup in 2007. 

Twenty-four nations are taking part in the U-20 World Cup for a total of 52 matches.

South Korea belongs to Group A with Argentina, England and Guinea.

South Korea plays Guinea in the games' opener at 8 p.m. Saturday at Jeonju World Cup Stadium in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province.
