S. Korea, China to Hold Workshop in Beijing on Tackling Fine Dust

The National Institute of Environment Research will hold a South Korea-China experts’ workshop in Beijing on Tuesday to identify the cause of fine dust in China and to devise ways to lessen it.
 
Participants of the workshop, which will open in the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, will boost cooperation on studying ways to lessen fine dust concentrations in South Korea and China.
 
They will also prepare for a meeting of environment ministers from South Korea, China and Japan that will open in Suwon city in South Korea’s Gyeonggi Province on August 24th.
 
Participants will also unveil research plans for a project dubbed, “The Clear Sky Project” under which South Korea and China will jointly inspect the air quality of China’s northern regions from this year through July 2020.
 
The Clear Sky Project was proposed by China.
