Hanwha Produces 135 Signed Words Related to Baseball for Hard of Hearing Fans

The Hanwha Eagles have produced 135 sign language words related to baseball for fans who are deaf or hard of hearing.

The South Korean professional baseball club announced on Monday that it came up with new signs for baseball terms with sign language and baseball experts as well as players of deaf baseball teams across the nation.

It said roughly 250-thousand people who are deaf in the country have difficulty learning about baseball due to the lack of official baseballs words in sign language.

Out of some roughly 25-thousand sign language words listed in the National Institute of Korean Language, only three are related to baseball.

Hanwha launched the effort to produce the words last November.
