S. Korea Exits FIFA U-20 World Cup with 3-1 Loss to Portugal

South Korea was knocked out of FIFA U-20 World Cup after it lost to Portugal 3-1 in the round of 16 on Tuesday.
 
At the Cheonan Sports Complex in South Chungcheong Province, Lee Sang-heon scored the lone goal for the host, while Bruno Xadas and Bruno Costa combined to score three for the 2011 U-20 World Cup runners-up.
 
South Korea entered the match with the goal of advancing into the semifinal for the first time in 34 years.
 
South Korea advanced to as far as the quarterfinal in the 2013 edition in Turkey but failed to reach to the round of 16 in the 2015 edition in New Zealand.
