Nation's Dry Spell to Ease with Rain Forecast for Tuesday

The nation is expected to see rain on Tuesday that will help ease the prolonged drought.

The Korea Meteorological Administration announced on Monday that hot temperatures will cool down and a dry spell advisory will be lifted with rain expected in Jeju and the nation’s southern regions from noon Tuesday.

The weather agency forecast that Jeju Island will see 30 to 120 millimeters of rain by Wednesday while South Gyeongsang Province and drought-devastated South Jeolla Province will witness up to 50 millimeters. Other regions in the nation will see between five to 30 millimeters of precipitation.

The rainfall is expected to clear up in most regions on Wednesday afternoon. More rain is expected around the weekend for the Chungcheong Provinces and southern regions.
