Six More Korean Cultural Institutes Added at Overseas Universities

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the King Sejong Institute Foundation said on Wednesday that they will build cultural institutes at six locations in universities around the world.

The centers will be built in Russia, the U.S., Spain, Indonesia, China and Cambodia, at universities including Indiana State University and Barcelona National University.

The newly designated centers, aimed at expanding the reach of Korean language and culture, will go through a trial run in the year's second half and officially launch their services next year.

The six new centers were chosen from applications received from 51 institutions in 27 countries.

The new additions will bring the total number of cultural institutes to 177 in 58 countries.
