Police arrested 20 college students Friday who barged into a U.S. military base in central Seoul and set fire to a U.S. flag.

The 15 male and five female students, all members of a radical student group, Hanchongnyeon, ran into the compound of a U.S. military engineering unit shortly after noon, shouting the slogan, "U.S. stop war plan on Korean peninsula."

Police said the students then pulled down a U.S. flag and set it afire.

Before staging the protest, the students posted a statement on the group's Internet homepage, in which they demanded an end to the U.S. military presence in South Korea.
