Heavy Rainfall to Hit Central Region







Heavy rainfall is expected to hit the nation Sunday and Monday, as a seasonal monsoon front is approaching the nation.

The Korea Meteorological Administration forecast on Saturday that the central region and some parts of the southern areas will receive more than 30 millimeters of heavy downpour per hour along with strong winds and thunderstorms Sunday and Monday.

Parts of the central region are forecast to receive more than 200 millimeters of torrential rain.

Eighty to 150 millimeters of rain are expected in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province and parts of Gangwon Province, while 50 to 100 millimeters of rain are forecast in Chungcheong and North Gyeongsang Province.

The nation is expecting rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, while the central region is forecast to see rain from Friday to Sunday.
