Rain Continues with Monsoon Front, Typhoon

Rain is continuing across the nation, with the central region affected by a seasonal monsoon front and southern areas affected by typhoon Nanmadol.

The Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA) said Tuesday that Chungcheong Province and the western part of Gangwon Province are receiving heavy downpours of 20 millimeters of rain per hour.

Some parts of the central region have seen more than 100 millimeters of rain since Monday.

The KMS forecast 30 to 80 millimeters of rain for areas south of Chungcheong Province, and the Ulleung Island and Dokdo islets in the East Sea Tuesday and Wednesday.

Rain is expected to continue across the nation with the exception of the northern parts of Gyeonggi and the western parts of Gangwon Province. The weather will clear up on Tuesday afternoon as the rain is expected to move south. Rain is forecast to continue in southern areas and on Jeju Island due to the typhoon.
