S. Korean Horror Film "The Mimic" Sold in 122 Countries

South Korean horror film “The Mimic” has been sold in 122 countries before its release.

The film’s distributor NEW said on Thursday that the film, which will be released next month in Korea, was sold to 122 countries including South and North America, France, Germany, Britain, Italy, Spain, and Malaysia.

The movie directed by Huh Jung is about a family affected by an unknown creature that mimics human voices to enchant people. The story has been inspired by the South Korean urban legend of the Jangsan Tiger, or Jangsanbum, which lures people by making a sound resembling a woman’s wail.

The distributor said that it is very unusual for South Korean films to be released in South American countries.
